Dr. Janine Kreft Psy.D., a TikToker who makes videos about mental wellness and setting boundaries,  went viral for her face and body tapping technique.

Growing up to be a young professional ballet dancer by training with Ballet San Jose and The Boston Conservatory, Janine had a sudden change in career path after her physical health no longer sustained the intensities of athletic training. Heavily discouraged and depressed, Janine found a haven in her own personal therapy. She developed an interest in psychology which motivated her to do a masters and doctorate in the field.

Dr. Kreft is now a licensed clinical psychologist with substantial expertise. She worked at the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs where she worked with Veterans recovering from PTSD, depression, and panic attacks. She often used the newest and unique treatment models to facilitate recovery.

Realizing that her talent for group coaching and raising individual consciousness was only limited to a certain local place, she decided to expand her work by opening an Instagram account to promote mental wellness. With time, her page became popular on a global scale and now offers 1:1 sessions and group coaching with her unique approach. Now she has a following of nearly 800k across social media platforms.

Dr. Kreft has trained in Neurolinguistic Programming, Hypnosis, Mental- Emotional Release, Emotion Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping, and Access Consciousness.

Her TikTok video of tapping on the face and body was virally watched and shared by a bigger audience likely due to its do-able approach. The watchers can easily identify the acupressure points on their face and body as directed by Dr. Kreft that by tapping repeatedly, calm the nervous system.

Another alternative technique for dealing with emotional distress that Dr. Kreft demonstrated in her videos is a cold response where she dipped her head in a bowl filled with ice water. She explains that this can have a “dive effect” on the body so that it can deviate from panic and come back to its original state.

Dr. Kreft’s videos are very easy to follow for any layman. Her videos are themed based on everyday life situations to create more ease in life. Other than making videos, Janine also provides transformational 1:1 sessions and group coaching techniques that are very different from traditional models.

Kreft’s Couch is her newly launched business that focuses on mental wellness by facilitating virtual classes with international students. Janine loves to connect with people and facilitate them in increasing their individual consciousness. She has an interest in creating her own loungewear line in the future and notably, will also be featured in Dr. Will Cole’s podcast soon.
