Justin Janoska, a clinician and specialist in autoimmune disease and trauma, is a living personification of the phrase ‘if you can dream it, you can do it;’ That your dreams and goals are worth pursuing. There have been millions of dreamers before you, and if they had given up, the world would not have been the same.
At several points in our life, we feel like giving up on the many journeys we go on. We often quit even before we begin, and more importantly, we tend to give up just when we are about to achieve a breakthrough. However, we must remember that our darkest circumstances frequently lead to our most significant achievements. ‘Keep going,’ we should tell ourselves. Tough challenges, in the end, produce strong people. We should be afraid of not attempting rather than failing.
For Justin, watching his mother suffer from the incapacitating symptoms of Hashimoto’s for over two decades was a brutal eye-opener. Instead of losing his heart, he got inspired to learn the evidence and truths about autoimmunity. Admirably, Janoska turned every crisis into an opportunity as he empowered women to take charge of their health, and get the results they deserve.
His mother’s long fight with Hashimoto and his struggles with neurodevelopmental disorders as a child played an essential role in making Justin the fighter he is. And this has helped him while facing a plethora of challenges that life has thrown at him. As a child, he dreamed of becoming an artist and worked in the film industry as a set designer. But God had other plans for him. Upon graduation, he initially struggled to find a job and make a career. Though it was hard, Justin diverted all his energy towards freelancing and did freelance work in NYC for five years straight. He eventually landed a profile on IMDB.com.
Justin also struggled financially for many years before going to grad school, which was the reason he started his first business when he was in college. Justin and his friend started a vodka business, but it fell through the cracks due to the recession in 2008. Later Justin started an at-home personal training business with another friend. Eventually, Justin went off on his own since he was more interested in working with people who had chronic diseases. That’s when he laid the foundations of “The Autoimmune Revolution.”
All his struggles have shaped Justin’s personality and made him a stronger person who strives to become a bigger and better version of himself. Despite being a successful clinician and entrepreneur, Justin plans to go back to school this year for his doctorate in health sciences with a concentration in trauma counseling.
Looking at Justin’s life journey and his adamance to never give up, we can undoubtedly say that you and only you are in charge of your life and the decision-maker of how and what you want to make of it!
