Joshua Jones is a brilliant interior designer that runs E-design studio JJones Design Co and offers interior designing and decorating services to his clients. He says that his business mainly focuses on providing boutique and customized online services to both local and international customers.
Talking about how he started his company, Jones said that in his early days, he experienced discrimination against himself because of his Deafness. Regardless of where he went, the response was more or less the same: people were more concerned about his hearing problem rather than paying attention to his quality of work and talent.
Jones went on explaining how all these experiences influenced him and how he kept on bottling up his frustrations and disappointments. One day, he expressed his concerns to his partner, Jeffry Kahle, and he came up with a fantastic idea. He advised him to take his business online where he can solely focus on solving the issues faced by his clients rather than worrying about how to communicate with them.
Jones said it was a brilliant idea, and ever since then there’s been no turning back for him because his career has been skyrocketing. He has been a true inspiration for all the people who face challenges from those that don’t believe in their worth and value. From his life story, we can all learn the lesson that no matter how hard the circumstances are, if you set your mind to do it right, you can overcome any obstacle.
Just as Jones put it, “When life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade out of them” and this is exactly what he did. Jones strongly believes in a common mantra in the Deaf community; “Deaf people can do anything but hear.” He turned his Deafness into strength and broke the conventional barriers.
So, this is how the extremely talented Joshua Jones started his online e-design business. He told us that his prime goal was to see his business flourish and prosper and be able to help people create beautiful spaces at an affordable price. Moreover, as Jones was among the pioneers of e-design, he took his fair share of the loot and now has a clear idea of the areas where he can experiment to take his business to even greater heights.
As Jones said, “When I started a lot of people weren’t familiar with how e-design works and how it will benefit them. I had to educate them how e-design works. However, during that process, I learned a lot from those experiences such as what is working or not and improving my business based on the feedback I received from my clients and colleagues. The first few years were a struggle and challenging journey for me, but I finally saw the result that I always wanted for my business just after a few years of perseverance and patience. Once I figured that out, my business started to grow steadily and get increasing recognition in magazines, blog sites, and social media.”
Now, Jones has completed over 500 e-design projects during his journey. His work has been featured in House Beautiful magazine, Business of Home, CNN, Apartment Therapy, Hunker, MyDomaine, and Strategist, as well as a forthcoming book.
