Mo Shaikh is a renowned entrepreneur in the United States with three thriving businesses running under his watch, with possibly more to come. He is often seen on national TV, divulging intricate details about the industries he is in while sharing his views on entrepreneurship. You may have also seen him speaking at events with a proud and confident demeanor. One cannot help but wonder, how did Mo come to have such a vibrant personality?
It goes back to Mo’s teenage years. He was in high school then, also doing paltry jobs to help with the bills while his parents shouldered the rest of the responsibility. Ambitious and ardent, he knew he wanted more out of life. However, owing to the lack of resources, support, and guidance, he could never fully acknowledge what exactly it was that he wanted.
High school went on, and he clinched multiple awards as well as impressive results in tests and exams. However, when he finished his high school studies, he was forced to make a call that would change his life once and for all.
“I had a choice between pursuing higher education after graduating high school or choosing to work full-time at a retail location. After substantially thinking over the matter, I chose the latter,” Mo shares.
Skipping college, exploring unknown terrains, and discovering new realities, 19-year-old Mo was determined to reap the best outcome out of his newly found passion. After diligently working for a few years, he decided it was time to elevate things to the next level. He had finally discovered what he wanted out of his life, and it was only a matter of time now before he claimed it.
The time came when Mo entered the world of entrepreneurship by buying the same store from the owner he was working for. All his savings went into the purchase, but it turned out to be worth it. Mo had gained enough experience in running and managing a business to grow it to its full potential. He was, in his own words, ‘living the life exactly he had dreamed and enjoying his true calling.’
“That cellular store purchase was the turning point of my life. I could now see the fruits of my labor before my very eyes. Working hard was never a problem for me, and I believed if I was able to achieve a purchase like this, I knew I didn’t want to stop,” he added.
And he never stopped. In the next 5 years, Mo had already bought and sold more than 10 different cell phone store locations. Today, Cell ER – his cellular retail business, comprises 8 retail locations and is constantly producing fruitful results. Mo found his true calling by making the hardest decision one could think of. Which begs another question: what are YOU waiting for?
