Success is a journey meant for people who are committed to their goals. Although the road may be rough and bumpy, success is always imminent when you carry passion and grit with you. For Sacred Thomas – a professional videographer and social media influencer, success lies in never giving up and creating an enjoyable life from which you don’t need a break.
“Live a life you don’t need a vacation from” is the principle that Thomas lives by. The same thought process led this avid traveler to start his video production company, Sacred Shot Media. Today, the company specializes in storytelling like no other, presenting tales of weddings or other events and immortalizing the beautiful moments forever. But the journey to this stage wasn’t without a hitch.
Growing up, Thomas was always a dream follower, thanks to his parents, who taught him the most valuable lesson of being creative and always dreaming big. “We were always taught to never limit our thinking in what was possible,” said Thomas while recalling his time with his parents. “As long as you are willing to work for it, you can achieve anything you put your mind to.”
In his household, the extent of success was never about going to college or getting a good job. Instead, he was raised with a mindset prioritizing passion over anything else. However, Thomas did attend college, studied at the McCoy School of Business, and also enrolled in Texas State University.
During his time in college, he started a party bus business with his friend. The transportation company named Five Star Entourage would shuttle students downtown, letting them enjoy the nightlife at some of the most amazing bars in Austin. While he would constantly work on his party bus business, Thomas couldn’t concentrate on his studies, so he ended up dropping out of college.
Meanwhile, the business venture was doing quite well as they expanded to taking private tours and renting out their buses for special occasions. However, the young entrepreneur wasn’t satisfied, since his goal was to create a life that he would love from dawn to dusk. After seven successful years of running the party bus company, Thomas finally ended up pivoting towards video production.
Thomas always loved creating visuals as well as traveling. Not knowing how to get started, Thomas consulted a friend, who was also a videographer, who told him about YouTube. This paved the way for young Thomas, who was on the lookout for a breakthrough to follow his passion for filming and traveling. Hence, Sacred Shot Media was born out of passion instead of simply a profit-oriented mindset. And it shows in each of the video production company’s work.
From shooting weddings, commercials, fitness videos, and food conferences to filming TEDx events and documentaries, Sacred Shot Media has made its name in video production. Recently, Thomas had the experience of walking as well as filming at the prestigious event of New York Fashion Week. The passionate videographer doesn’t want to stop at that, he intends to pursue bigger projects while improving his craft.
