From the outside, prison might not seem a big deal to some, but little do they know about its severe consequences and the endless pit of self-destruction one can fall into. A true expert in this subject matter is Kardell Sims, a Prison Expert, and Consultant who has been a frequent visitor to the jailhouse for more than two decades.
Being a Master Certified Empowerment Life Coach, nothing in his friendly demeanor and openness would suggest Kardell Sims has been in and out of prison for most of his adult life. Now, he serves as a speaker, 6x author, life coach, prison expert, and re-entry specialist. This is nothing but an inspiring saga of a formerly incarcerated individual who is leveraging all of his lived and learned experiences to help himself and others.
Hailing from a destructive background where his mother and most of his family did drugs, Kardell found himself hustling and gang-banging at an early age. He was 15 when he was caught breaching the law and got his first case, where he was charged with first-degree assault and attempted murder. From that point onwards, his prison journey began. From being in prison to drug dealing while on probation and parole, Kardell moved in and out of state and federal prison for almost twenty years.
It was during his time in federal prison that he made the ultimate mindset shift to change his life for good, a mission that led him to become a much-needed inspiration for the youth. Kardell walked out of the federal prison gates with a plan to become the best version of himself. Since then, the sky was the limit for the newly released.
Between his publishing achievements, master certification in empowerment coaching, and the entire curriculum he has created to help individuals desist from crime, Kardell takes pride in accomplishing a great deal within five years of his last release from prison. Not to mention the non-profit organization N.O.R.T.H that he has founded to educate, encourage, and inspire others to lead their lives on the right track.
Kardell highlights the pathway in and out of prison through different programs and courses, providing counseling for the entire prison cycle; pre-prison, during, and post-prison. Sharing his experiences and life lessons to prevent individuals from walking down the same path, Kardell is giving back to the community he helped destroy when he was drug dealing and gang-banging in the streets.
At the end of the day, experience is the best teacher. Hoping to speak and share his experiences in as many correctional institutions as possible, Kardell Sims is proudly doing his part in making the world a better place to live in.
