Motherhood is beautiful, and although mothers get significantly less time to themselves, it is essential for them to have an outlet where they can feel safe. In Hawaii, the epicentre of surfing athletes, many beautiful mothers take time out of their hectic routines to surf in the blue waters of the sea. There are many talented women but very few opportunities for them to shine. Danielle Zirkelbach, an expert surfer and a mother, is trying to promote mother athletes into professional surfing.
Falling in love with surfing art and creation in her college years, Danielle left her soccer career behind to follow her true calling – Surfing. Suffering from crippling dyslexia and criticism from people around her, she focused on her love language – Art and created The Art of Danielle Zirk LLC. According to Danielle, being a mother is one of her greatest achievements, and she loves her son Imua to the moon and back.
In 2010, Danielle moved to Hawaii to focus on herself and the things she loves doing. She loves surfing and learns new techniques every day. She shows her moves on her social media pages and has garnered almost 20k followers on her Instagram account because of it. She and her husband, Shayden, teach surfing and encourage females and mothers to participate and flourish in surfing.
Being very vocal about the difficulties of motherhood and how it changes a woman’s life, Danielle ensures she has time to do everything she loves. She advocates for mothers all around the globe to have opportunities to build a career and follow their dreams. She wants to open avenues for mothers who are talented surfers to compete in professional competitions. Danielle is adamant about creating chances for mothers and women worldwide to surf and become the best surfers in the world.
Danielle creates beautiful surfboard artwork for her followers and clients. She paints and waxes surfboards with different colors and curates unique designs. It is her way of connecting the two things she loves the most – Art and surfing.
